Do you provide free quotes?
Yes — every quote is free and completely no-obligation. Tell us a little about your project and we'll arrange to come out, take a proper look, and give you an honest price.
What areas do you cover?
We're based on Royal Deeside and work throughout Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire as our core area. For the right projects — heritage restoration, estate work and special commissions — we also travel across Scotland and the UK.
Do you build new drystone walls and repair old ones?
Both. We build new drystone dykes and feature walls, and we rebuild and repair existing ones that have bulged, slipped or fallen. Wherever possible we reuse the original stone so repairs blend seamlessly with the rest of the wall.
What's the difference between drystone and mortared walls?
Drystone (or 'dyke') walling is built entirely without mortar — the stones are carefully selected and placed so the wall holds itself together, which is the traditional method for field and garden walls. Mortared stonework uses lime or cement and suits buildings and some retaining walls. We'll advise on the best approach for your project.
Do you do stone landscaping as well as walls?
Yes — natural stone paving, paths, steps, patios and retaining walls are a big part of what we do, alongside traditional walling and heritage restoration. We can bring real character to a garden or outdoor space with the right stonework.
